Phatwater Updates-Squid Pro Quo

The Phatwater on the Natchez gauge today is 45.71′, more than ten feet above where it stood on our last reportage, on the 18th of March.  ’Tis a pity we can’t get out there this weekend for a BluzCruz warmup, but domesticity prevails.  I’m trying to become a good neighbor, which is to say I’m building a fence to keep our boundaries secure and our dogs on a shortened lunge.  The north gun tower is all but complete and the razor wire and Claymores are being placed as I write this.

Thanks to all of you who’ve agreed to safety-boat for April 18th’s Ochsner’s Ironman in New Orleans.  To date we’ve stretched our numbers to somewhere just above two dozen.    We can still use more paddlers for this event but I have turned in our Hotel Room numbers so if you decide to join us you’ll need to make your own reservations, as, we’ve maxed out our limit.

Again, we’ll be staging our boats on the afternoon of the 17th, at the research park area of UNO, on the lakeshore, where the swimming to biking transition occurs.  On arriving in N.O. you’ll want to take the Elysian Fields exit, north from 610 to the lakeshore, where signs will direct you from this point.

All who participate will receive a Kayak Mississippi ball cap and stickers.

Call if you have questions: (601) 431-1731.
