Phatwater Updates-Where The Buffalo Roam
Phatwater on the Natchez Gauge today is 32.35′, though there is a projected 9+’ rise coming.
Talk of a trip to the Bogue Homa on Saturday has stalled as contract negotiations are afoot and Braxton Barden’s agent has sent him to the taxi squad, back to Yokosuka Naval Air Base, Â where real estate deals aren’t nearly as reasonable as those in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. Â He’ll be packing his seabag in June, but we hope to have built a strong enough rapport with the Meridian Naval Air Station to call upon them again for their sailors willing to be weekend boat haulers. Â They worked out well this past October, and we hope to see them again.
Here’s an inexpensive (less than $150) expandable (fits any pickup) service rack that would do well for spanning six feet, which we find adequate for most boats, to include our 21 footers. Â The rack is solid, but light weight, having a 500 pound load capacity: Up to one tandem polypro sit-on-top and one Mother-In-Law.

We’re working feverishly at getting our sponsors lined up for next year. Â BluzCruz coming up in three months. Â The day after the BluzCruz is the New Orleans Ochsner’s Ironman, where last year we provided kayak support for the swimming portion of this Tri-Athlon. Â We will need as many of you again this year as can attend. Â We cover hotels and provide a KayakMississippi T in our new color-Ocean Blister Rouge. Â Please let us hear from you if you are interested. Â We need to begin making our Hotel reservations now. Â The Tri-Athlon begins at daylight, April 19th, on the shore of Lake Ponchartrain. Â Will post other info later. Â Those interested in the BluzCruz, please contact Wayne Pratt: Â waynevpratt@yahoo.com
