Phatwater Updates-Pub Glasses
Phatwater on the Natchez Gauge today is 42.9′. Â Windy, lots of drift, lots of local rain to keep things well stirred, but will be hoping to make a November tour, perhaps before the Marathon Rowing Championships, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, on 14 November. Â This is also a great race. Â For registration go to RegattaCentral.com.
Pub glasses are on back order along with the Phatwater Sub-V knives. Â There has been some confusion on other items. Â The pins were to be sold, as were the ball caps, Â but the pub glasses were to be an item we give to each paddler. Â We ordered one gross, and we ran short by about 17. Â If you did not receive one, we will be happy to ship at our cost. Â This will vary but I’ll check into this and find an equitable and hopefully break-free shipping method. Â If you want additional glasses, they’re $15 apiece.
We still don’t have a completed results page.  There are many reasons for this, but the primary reason has to do with the individual paddler not providing us with the proper information regarding his/her boat.  As a result, we have to go back through the finish photos to try to determine which boat certain people were paddling.  This takes time.  In one instance, we had a couple listed as  boat #9, but they applied their boat number upside down, so we wound up with two # 6s and none labeled #9.  This is an honest mistake, and we have finally figured it out, but this is an example of why the results are often delayed.  I hope you will all bear with us.
Things are shaping up for the Phatwater # IX, next October 9th. Â Mike Worley, of Bowie Outfitters, has been our sponsor for the Phatwater Bowie for the past five years. Â He is now passing the torch, so we are currently looking for a new sponsor to take on this most important responsibility. Â We welcome any suggestion from any of you who know of a serious collector who might wish to fill this Premier Sponsorship Position.
Thanks to all of you who provided photographs of the Phatwater. Â Melissa is digesting them and adding them to the kayakmississippi facebook page on a daily basis.
All for now-KB
