Phatwater Updates-Lunar Surface

New York City’s fourth annual Mayor’s Cup, which took place a week and a day after the Phatwater, on October, 18th, is written up at Surfski.com, and I urge you all to read of it, hyar.

The write up, by Phatwater Veteran and Sub-IV paddler Joe Glickman, is terrific.  It will offer you a new appreciation for and understanding of what it is like to enter and complete a truly challenging race. The second ever Phatwater veteran to finish Sub-IV, Bevan Manson, of Durban, South Africa, took 2nd place in this year’s Mayor’s Cup in what can only be described as a grudgefest and utterly grueling undertaking.  The conditions were horrendous, and are well described by Phatwater veteran Erik Borgnes, our fourth ever Sub-IV Phatwater paddler.

I’m told we are approaching a full moon, but I cannot be certain of this since it has been raining here for days, and the clouds are obscuring any hint of the Lunar Surf Ass.

Cowabunga?

Cowabunga?

The present level on the Phatwater at the Natchez Gauge is 40.98′, with more rises on the way.  And although we could face a drought in January, for the time at hand, it’s as wet as bat guano in an all night automated equatorial car wash & cantina.

All for now-KB
